Privacy policy
Last updated: October 25, 2026
1. Who we are
SnipDock is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME]. If you have questions about this policy or about your data, contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL].
2. What we store, and for how long
When you create a transfer we store exactly what you sent: the text you pasted, or the file you uploaded, plus a small amount of metadata (creation time, expiry time, content length, and — if you set one — a one-way hash of your 4-digit PIN).
Every item has an expiry time. By default that is 24 hours; you can also choose burn-after-read (deleted after the first successful view), 1 hour or 7 days. When the time is up the item is physically deleted from our storage. Files are additionally removed by an automatic lifecycle rule after at most 7 days.
If you create a transfer while signed in with an active Pro subscription, we also keep an index (pickup code and creation time only) in your account area so you can see and destroy your recent transfers. That index is kept for up to 90 days. Transfers created while signed out or without Pro are never added to any personal index.
3. No account required
You can use every free feature without registering. If you do sign in (email code or Google) or subscribe to Pro, we store your account identifier and subscription status so we can apply Pro features.
4. We do not claim end-to-end encryption
SnipDock is not end-to-end encrypted. Content is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on our servers (Upstash Redis and Cloudflare R2) until it expires, which means we are technically able to read it. Please do not transfer passwords, private keys, government identifiers or any other secret you cannot afford to expose.
Anyone who has your pickup code — or your pickup code and PIN — can read the content. Share it only with the device or person you trust.
5. Logs and abuse prevention
We keep minimal operational logs: pickup code, timestamp, content length, and a one-way hash of the IP address used for rate limiting. We never write the content itself into our logs. Rate limits protect the service against automated abuse.
6. Search engines
Pickup pages are marked noindex and are excluded from crawling. Only our public pages (home, how it works, pricing, privacy, terms) can appear in search results.
7. Third-party services
- Cloudflare R2 — file storage (no egress fees, automatic cleanup).
- Upstash Redis — metadata storage with native expiry.
- Supabase — authentication (email code and Google sign-in).
- Stripe — subscription payments. We never see your card details.
- Vercel — hosting and edge delivery.
8. Your choices
You can destroy a transfer at any time with the “Destroy now” button while signed in as a Pro subscriber. Otherwise, simply wait for it to expire — deletion is automatic and there is no archive to request deletion from.
9. Children
SnipDock is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. Please do not use it to transfer content that violates our terms.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page.
